Just as in nature so too in business: the degree to which a system can integrate diversity, predicts the system’s adaptability. To survive in an ever-changing world, you need as many different ways of working the problem as you can get your hands on.
An introductory one-day workshop designed to demonstrate the value of inclusivity in fostering innovation.
Course Description
Designed to help participants understand the importance of creating a psychologically safe workplace where employees feel comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas and taking risks without fear of judgement or retribution. Through expert instruction and interactive group activities, participants will learn about the basic principles of psychological safety and its role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. They will also learn how to create an inclusive work environment that fosters innovation, creativity and problem-solving by building trust, fostering collaboration, and embracing diversity of perspectives.
Learning Outcomes
During this course participants will:
- Understand the basic principles of psychological safety and its role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Understand how to create an inclusive work environment that fosters innovation, creativity and problem-solving by building trust, fostering collaboration, and embracing diversity of perspectives.
- Be able to identify and address common obstacles to psychological safety in the workplace, such as fear of failure, lack of trust, and unconscious biases.
- Understand the importance of effective communication.
- Understand the importance of leadership in creating a psychologically safe workplace and be able to apply effective leadership strategies to create a culture of psychological safety.
- Be able to identify and address issues of bias and discrimination in the workplace and create an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all employees.
- Understand the impact of psychological safety on employee engagement, job satisfaction, and organizational performance, and be able to create a plan to measure and improve psychological safety in the workplace.
- Understand the ethical and legal implications of psychological safety in the workplace and be able to apply ethical standards in creating a psychologically safe workplace.
